As Product Design Director at Caxy Interactive, a Chicago custom-software studio, I led a team of about fifteen designers, information architects, and developers, and set the design direction across enterprise workflow apps and startup products.
Caxy was building without a software development lifecycle when I arrived. I installed Scrum and Agile from scratch and trained the team on the product owner, product manager, and scrum master roles. It is the same instinct I carried forward: when the operating system is missing, build it.
My applied-AI work started here, in 2013.
I led UX and product for a Google data science team on a large-scale sentiment-analysis proof of concept, using custom machine-learning algorithms against a high-volume social media data stream. That was 2013, a decade before applied AI became the headline. It is the start of the through-line that runs through my Optimizely years to Customer IQ at Cavallo and RevMax today.
Selected work
- Motorola. Designed and built the internal firmware-testing application that validated phone firmware at scale before consumer release.
- SIFMA Foundation, the Stock Market Game. A complex mobile app with real financial-simulation logic, used in classrooms nationwide.
- ICC. An enterprise workflow and content application with audit trails, voting workflows, and compliance tracking.
Across the studio I worked with more than a hundred clients, from Fortune 500 enterprises to early-stage startups.
