This week I went out to Cal Arts in Valencia California to interview for spot in next year’s MFA lineup. This post is just a brief summary of that experience. I like to share things that I wish other people would share. To that end I will include the questions that I was asked in the interview, at least the questions I remember.
Interview Questions from a twenty minute interview:
- Tell us about you!
- Specific question about my past?
- Why Grad School, Why now?
- Why Cal Arts?
- How do your experiences effect your work?
- Specific questions about my portfolio?
- Do you have any questions!
My personal side note: Don’t be shy, or nervous, one of the nicest part of CalArts are the people who learn and work here. Your interviewer is actually always cool, keep in mind these are the people you will be working with every day, should you get in.
